Farahnaz is an accomplished violin and piano performer, songwriter, and music educator based in Coquitlam. She holds an Honours Diploma in Music from the Tehran Conservatory of Music, along with a performance certificate in violin from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her extensive musical education includes studies under esteemed professors from the Art University of Tehran, such as Arsalan Kamkar, Marjan Ghanbarimehr, and Behrang Khalili, as well as under the mentorship of Professor Robert Rozek. Currently, Farahnaz serves as a violin instructor and Artistic Manager at the Vancouver Conservatory of Music (VCM). In her managerial role, she oversees the VCM annual festival, ensuring high standards by monitoring and fostering student development. Additionally, she is an active member of the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO), performing as a violinist under the baton of Lars Kaario. In 2020, Farahnaz authored the “Violin Kids” grading system, a curriculum specifically designed for elementary violin students at the Vancouver Conservatory of Music. Her previous experience includes serving as an instructor and Artistic Manager at Sarv Music Academy, where she played a significant role in organizing and participating in various music festivals, such as the Mahak Music Festival, Sarv Music Festival, and the Fajr International Music Festival. Some of her most notable performances have taken place at renowned venues including Evergreen Hall, Vahdat Hall, and Roudaki Concert Hall. With over a decade of professional teaching experience, Farahnaz prioritizes creating engaging and enjoyable lessons tailored to inspire and motivate each student. She is adept at guiding students of all skill levels to achieve their musical aspirations and is skilled in teaching a variety of genres, including classical, jazz, and traditional folk music. Farahnaz’s teaching methods incorporate VCM, RCM, Suzuki, and ABRSM frameworks, providing instruction in violin, piano, music theory, and ear training at the Vancouver Conservatory of Music.
